Zach has been practicing criminal defense ever since he got started. Over the last 15 years, he has tried over 100 jury trials. Although serious felonies make up the backbone of his practice, he’s defended people charged with everything from murder, to federal tax fraud, all the way down to traffic offenses. He’s practiced in courts all across the state, from the Georgia Supreme Court, the 11 th Circuit District Court, all the way down to various municipal courts around Atlanta. Throughout his career, Henry County has always been what he considers his “home turf”.

Prior to teaming-up with Suesan and Michael to from Miller North & Brill, Zach worked in in private practice at Miller & Key, as a solo practitioner at the Law Offices of Zachary North, and as public defender. Throughout his career he has always focused his attention on cutting- edge, modern trial advocacy.

Before graduating from the Georgia State College of Law in 2008, Zach attended Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, which was a long way from home after growing up in Atlanta, where he graduated from the Lovett School. His undergraduate degree was in Theatre, which he used to great success during law school as a mock trial competitor, winning two national championships, being awarded best advocate, and being honored by the Georgia House of Representatives in HR 1676 (2007-2008). Zach still participates in mock trial by coaching Emory Law’s team as an adjunct professor of law.

Zach is also active in the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, where he’s previously served as an area vice president, the chair of the Technology Committee, and as a member of the Ah Horn Scholarship Committee. More locally, Zach was elected president of the Henry County Bar Association for 2023.

When he’s not working for his clients, Zach enjoys travelling with his wife Sara, supporting the Atlanta United Football Club, reading, gaming, and painting landscapes.
